Time to resurrect this baby! So i have everything in place, its all screwed in a wired up but i get a horrible horrible hum/buzz from the guitar, that is almost too loud to play through. It disappears when i touch the strings though (or any metal part). At first i thought this was a grounding issue so i took the guitar apart and checked all the wiring (here is the wiring diagram i used), checked all the grounds and everything, i even went a rewired it according to a different wiring diagram (here is the second wiring i used) but i still get this ungodly buzz.

So here is the question, how do i stop it? Is it grounding? Do i need to shield the guitar? Do i need to use shielded wire when wiring the guitar (i just used maplin standard off the shelf stuff). The humbuckers are seymour duncans without any metal cover or ring around them, i heard somewhere that this may cause grounding issues since the metal cover is usually grounded and it is missing in this case, could that be the problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Pictures and demo video will be forthcoming once i sort this out, i promise.

All that shit has to be grounded together...pup to pup to pot to pot to switch to jack to bridge. You need a continuous ground circuit.Ground everything. If the buzz disappears when you touch metal then yes it is a ground problem.

It's grounding, and I bet that your bridge is not grounded to the rest of the grounds.

I have a wire running from the bridge (tremolo claw) to the rest of the grounding on the volume pot though.

Somewhere you are losing the grounding.

Have you checked for continuity between the pickup grounds and the bridge?
