Robert OG custom

Post by Hurb »

There has been a little bit of word about the body that rob is making me. it was going to be a jaguar with lipsticks.
But I wanted after that to make something along the lines of a fender maverick/custom, well I realised that I really cant be doing with the guitar I have, never mind 2 more customs! so I have decided to alter the design of the one rob is making me to incorporate my maverick lustings.
SOME will probably be sad to see this design rather the orginal jaguar design. but I have a proper offset.com shaped hardon for these rare beasts.

here are the specs.

ash maverick body.
danelectro lipstick pickups.
jaguar trem.
shortscale.
jaguar lower control plate.
fender xii/jaguar mix scratch plate.

Here is a quick mock up I did for robert.

It looks better side on though

Colour wise I am thinking shorline gold or whatever gold manchester guitar tech sell. and either mint white or pearoid scratcher. or candy applez to annoy mike.
I'm in a que behind aen and james. so don't expect much movement on this project for a bit.
hate away!

As long as the trem isn't going to be gold I like it.

:oops:I saw this and started immediately making plans in my head to build one myself  I love it! It looks like a really cool design though i prefer the giant headstock which could look cool with 6 on one side... but anyway cool build and I cant wait to see the end! (sunburst ftw >.> <.< but keep it on the down-low)

You can do, but let me build mine first!!! haha

I also like the big hocky headstock, but I don't have one handy.
I want to a sunburst one day, and I do think sunburst would look great on this, unfortunately because rob had already started on the body he will have to fill the rhythm circuit route he already done. so sunburts is out of the question for this body. plus getting good tort is hard.

The sunburst burns my eyes, but I have an increasing like for the old Fender golds.

I'm not too sure about the way the bridge floats there in space... but can't think of any alternatives! Lol.

Also, I love the hockeystick headstock with only six tuners. Fuckin paddles my boat.

I always think the MAverick body shape would suit black/tort. Bu that's ace Hurb, lipsticks ftw. Kent Armstrong, apparently, make the best/most accurate lipsticks.

You think so?

I have one, I was not wowed by it. I like the Danelectro re-issue better, but nothing is better than the O.G. ones. You can get them on fleabay.
