Glue a piece of wood inside the cavity and screw into it.

I would have to shape the wood and

a) I can't be bothered
b) A missing screw doesn't bother me

You're such a lazy get.

I don't see the point in half-arsing anything. Go that extra mile and be proud of yourself for it.

Quickly mocked it up. Just discovered the pickup screws are too long to fit in the body. I've got two choices, hacksaw and shorten them. Or drill the cavity a bit to create a recess. I can't find my hacksaw so thats the decision made for me.

I like bodges.

You can also see the capo at the first fret, I took off the neck with the strings still on and held in place with the capo. Works a treat for mods like this.

These are the GFS pickups yeah? I take it you're enamoured with them? They look very nice.

GFS/Axes R Us/G & B Pickup Co

G&B are marked on the underside and are a Korean company who make a lot of pickups for the low and highend guitars that come out of Korean it seems.

Lazy man's pro-tip: snip the head off a screw and superglue it in the hole: it's all about the aesthetics, baby.

Though I understand your concept, I just can't get used to crome pickups on Strats.
