^ Hurb is so pleased, he hasn't even spotted the humbuckers.

Not entirely right this, Zaphod my old love: a lot of boosters add loads of characteristics to your sound; the Rangemaster being a prime example. There are boosts and then there are clean boosts.Zaphod wrote:They don't add drive, they just add volume.nomorebridge wrote:Thanks Zaphod..... I think I get it, but they are not the same things as OD pedals?Zaphod wrote:Well they... boost. Make noisey go louder, usually used for driving tube amps harder and such.
They also usually affect the tone a wee bit, my LPB-1 adds some low end and takes some highs, which means it's not too great with bridge pickups.
Or are they just a bit more/less subtle..... the same, or not at all?
If you take a very clean amp and stomp on a booster pedal at full, your guitar will just be louder, clean, but louder
I noticed, but if i can make him buy a kaoss pad then I can sort out dem gay hums in time.benecol wrote:^ Hurb is so pleased, he hasn't even spotted the humbuckers.

haha,
i actually bought that guitar when i was a little unaware of what i was doing and trying to get 'da kurtdz' (is that what you say around here?)
well not really but i had a strat so i wanted something a little different
i really wish i got a proper (jap) jaguar, but i was scared of the bridges as id read all these dodgy reviews about them and wasnt aware of using mustang saddles on the bridge

The Saltbooster isn't a perfectly flat frequency response, but it does add a lot of awesome to your sound.benecol wrote:Not entirely right this, Zaphod my old love: a lot of boosters add loads of characteristics to your sound; the Rangemaster being a prime example. I haven't posted a pedal board in here for ages, mainly because I haven't had one and have just thrown loads of pedals around and mixed it up all the time.
I need some order again though so I am trying to knock this together.
My main aims are
A)size I need something as small as possible so big pedals are out and as little pedals as possible.
B) need to be as noisy as possible but not in a wow I just switched a pedal on kind of way.
C) tidyness
D) least hiss or hum as possible.
E) AWESOME
Obviously this isn't finished so I don't know how it's gonna sound all together. but I have faith it will tick all boxes for a bit.

Talk us through what's on the board there, eh Hurb? More specifically, what's that blue thing on the left?
Mike inside the muff looks tidy although naughty tim has taped up the board, I hope that is so stuff doesn't short on things rather him being goopy and secretive.
