A wiring diagram for Vester guitars? Its active circuitry on a s/s/h superstrat.

Its an oddball, one of the pots is directly connected to a mini circuit. I've not seen anything like it before, its completely different to the EMG system. I'm figuring the battery powers the circuit rather than the pickups, so i suppose it is along the lines of an EMG afterburner.
There seems to be no info anywhere, apparently Fender threatened to take Vester to court in the 90's because of name similarities (rolfs) but Vester could not afford to go so they folded.
If i cant figure it i'll try bypassing the circuit. No harm, the project has cost me very little money.

Is there a number on the IC chip? It could help narrow down what the little circuit is.
It might be best to just make up your own wiring diagram. You could probably do master vol and tone, then a pot for the effect. If you can get an idea whats what on the circuit and which pot suits which task it shouldnt be too bad to do.

Three, 2 cheap n cheerfulls (Samick and Vester, although the Samick is high end) and the Squier Stagemaster. I dont count the Cort HBS as a superstrat.Zaphod wrote:How many superstrats do you have fran?
I've sold three Strats and two Jags in the last 4 months. The collection is dwindling down i'm afraid.
I'm sure you know this by now, but finding a diagram is going to be pretty much impossible. I have a Vester, and the only factory literature I've been able to find online is a catalogue. Hell, there's not much out there on these guitars, period. I can't understand how they've gone so under the radar, when really they're very good quality for the price. I think the reason they were put out of business by Fender is more because of the logo script than the name itself. Hard to tell from this picture, but the "e" and the "r" are nearly exact compared to a Fender logo.
It was also right around the time that Fender started making the Stratocaster Plus. Have you considered that the circuit board might be aftermarket? I highly doubt even a knock-off company like Vester would use all blue and red wiring. Also I'm fairly certain my Vester is not active, but as you can see mine is a tad different than yours. It's a neck-through and has no middle pickup. I'll check the wiring tonight and see if it looks similar. I'll also look through that catalogue and see if I can find one like yours.

Well, my wiring is all red and blue too. No active circuitry, though.
The volume pot is especially odd. It looks like it's a four-conductor pickup, but the wiring is strange. The hardware is incredibly cheap, too. I'll probably end up redoing the entire thing...
Oh, I did find your guitar in the catalogue...it's a model JAR 1370. It makes no mention of active circuitry, however it does say "Optional Hybrid Pickup", so I suppose that's what it could be implying. Also, perhaps yours is an early model, or even a pre-production model, as the guitar pictured in the catalogue has the Vester logo on the pickups. Mine does, too, but I've no idea when it was mad. The catalogue I have is from 1993, and apparently Vester guitars were no longer manufactured after 1994.
