not the most exciting pedal but...
i've brought a boss dd-3, 45 quid brand new wasn't grumbling. i quite like it, can lack a bit of warmth, but through the tweed anything becomes warmer sounding.
anyone else use one?

i was quite surprised by it, not in the same vein as the reel echo. but that not why i got it. it self-oscillates a little as well. i've used it tonight at my first band practice with my new band, it sounds really good.

i originally bought it to use with an old vox organ that didn't have reverb and always thought it was well suited to keyboards. i used to get some really cool sounds from it on that.
with guitar i think it can sometimes get a bit muddy if you have the level too high, must be the clarity of the repeats. i tend to use it on shorter delay settings for occasional slapback, or if you set the time really short you can get a cool grinding metallic sound from it.
the only thing i've never used successfully is the hold function.

if only i knew that back in the days of hiding behind shit loads of pedals and using two amps. glad that i realized that 3-4 years ago.Fran wrote:Its the industry standard for a reason, i could not dial one bad sound in on mine, great pedal. Its that old addage 'less is more', why have a DD-6 when all you need is a DD-3? Its like them guys that have 100w amps and never go past 4 on the volume.

I use it for glitching on a really short delay time on 100% level, works differently to my Behringer delay which gets a quick tap to do the same rather than holding it down.stewart wrote:i originally bought it to use with an old vox organ that didn't have reverb and always thought it was well suited to keyboards. i used to get some really cool sounds from it on that.

i tried the behringer dd-3 clone today, it's not too bad. the dd-3 just had a little bit more of an edge for me.

i'm just stuck in a rut again for my dirt sounds. i get a sound i like for the strat, go to practice levels and it sounds harsh as fuck with no bottom end. i've tried my blues driver, my power driver, sd-1, metalizer, marshall blues breaker. i think a rat might be the answer.
any ideas?

sorry, meant to say. i got my father to send them through his companies post department. it'll be royal mail. he informed me last night that he hasn't done it yet. what dollar do i owe for the pedal modding, etc?
mike, what you recommend for Marshall kinda sounds, using single coils? i'm stick of the brightness of the strat.

You owe me nothing mate. I'll get them fixed/modded and back to you.Progrockabuse wrote:sorry, meant to say. i got my father to send them through his companies post department. it'll be royal mail. he informed me last night that he hasn't done it yet. what dollar do i owe for the pedal modding, etc?

I reckon a used Gv-2 would be great for you, really nice EQ. Hit up Fran, he might sell you the one I fixed for him.
