Well I took out the pickups last night to remove the claw and couldn't get it off. It appears to be glued to the pickup. Yes I did open the solder connection between the pickup and claw but she won't budge. Any ideas?

I still need some help with this. Maybe microhonic is not the right description. I removed the claws but have the same issue. The problem is when I strick a string, the open strings beside it are getting picked up and will sustain longer than the string I'm playing. So for example when I play on note on the A string, the open E string rings along with the note I play on my A string.

What do you call this problem and is this a shielding or other issue. It is driving me nuts. Thanks.

If your wanting to just pick the A string, do you make your finger lightly touch the E string to mute it?

um.. normally if you just want the sound of one string and nothing else, don't touch the others.
i mean, i don't know your guitar, this could be different from what i think it is but don't go blaming the guitar if it's the player.

It's not the player when my other 3 guitars and all the others I've played don't do it.

Seems like it would be a shielding problem but wanted to see what the others thought.

Buzzing, there's a shielding problem, a string ringing that you don't want to ring is either your playing or, well, I don't know what else.

You say it's "picking up" the string, but how does that string start ringing in the first place if you're not picking it?

That is the 64 dollar question. I've been playing 8 years so I really don't think this is a player issue but maybe I'm wrong. This is a new guitar so not sure what to look for. Maybe a sound clip would help.

It's most prevelant on the low E and A strings in the upper part of the fretboard (5th-10th frets). For instance, if I bar all the strings on the 7th fret except the low E and pick the A string, I get a large amount of ringing from the E string. A small amount might be expected but its almost as loud as the A string I picked. I can then palm the E string and it stops. None of single coils or even my humbuckers produce this kind of ring.

Could there be something with the saddles and they way they are touching that would cause this? It sucks to have a new guitar you don't like! I guess I could take it to my tech for a setup and he can check it.

Aye a sound clip would help.

I just messed about on me CIJ, which has the stock bridge, and I can't replicate it anywhere so I've got no idea whats happening.
