yeah, i think that's the encoding that sonar did to it...it didn't look quite so fuckin' blurry on my PC...

yeah you need to close mic it for it to work best soundwise. but it wasn't bad.

That's a really decent effort. Keep up the good work and remember to have as much fun with the editing process as you do playing (well, almost as much anyway). :D

Like I said in the Whorehouse thread I thought this was great. I loved you using voiceover over the different shots and I thought it sounded good. Obviously close-mic'd audio is the holy grail but I thought you could still tell how the pedal sounds. Thanks for teh kind words, it was a fun project

Nothing like head turnin' stereo action, with the aforementioned voiceovers and wit. Frank and honest with a nasty tone worthy of a first shot, you got my thumb up.

Now for me to get my game on, we've a Sony cam coming in next week.

thanks guys! keep the comments coming, it gives me something to work on for next time! the reason behind the stereo "panning" between voiceover/monologue moments and demonstration of tone is that for some reason i couldn't get windows movie maker and sonar to play nice together at the same time. if i had sonar open first, the camera wouldn't initialize because of the audio interface being used by sonar, and then the reverse was true if i kicked off windows movie maker first.

i tried telling windows movie maker to use the onboard sound card, because ideally i wanted to use the mics recorded itno sonar so i could do beter isolation of tracks. what i ended up doing was using just windows movie maker, assuming only one mic would be heard, but then to my surprise and delight it tracked both mics! but i couldn't figure out, once i dumped it into sonar, how to pull apart the stero tracks into two separate tracks. i think i may have an idea, but i'll have to play with that.

so what i did to improvise was just pan hard over to the correct mic for the guitar tones. anywhore, like i said, i'm really glad i got a chance to do this, and i'm looking forward to doing more demos in the future. hopefully i can get my chops up the point where i can put them in th shortscale youtube account with mike and hurb's...but i'm a long way off.

and thanks for the kudos on the use of cuts and closeups. i did all pretty hastily while i had some time whilst working from home. if i did on the weekend, i could take the time to get even better coverage and different angles.

LOL. i know, right? you'd think it'd be the opposite. or at least, in the stereo typical way.

so the question becomes, what do i do for my next demo?
