thats the one i'm after, the 30 combo.
i've been hangering after something a little different. plus i could afford to get an orange combo and still keep my blues deluxe.

finally got the right setup for the strat/pedalboard/amp. the tonebender cures all.

didn't get to play the amp very loud unfortunately sounded nice, but the low volume hindered a proper opinion of it.

It's a great amp - I played one before I went for the 50. The clean channel has no EQ, but it sounded great as is, something I really liked about just having a volume and nothing else.
Has got a fair amount of gain on tap on the dirty channel.
I think that V30 speakers really suit the Orange amps as well.
In the end I went for the RV50 because I liked the sound of the 6V6s over the EL34s in the R30.
I think that they probably suit a slightly brighter guitar too - the Strat will sound great.

funny you post this now, i was gonna do a quick little youtoob vid for the rocker's clean channel with both a 'midrange price' guitar and a cheapo guitar (cij mustang and hondo II). of course both aren't 'great' guitars, but it'll show how the amp just gives you the sound of the guitar itself. i might be able to do that tomorrow. there's soooo much more though, like aout the dirty channel, well i've said this before, it gets more high gain over the top than say a rockerverb or ad, it sounds less 'refined' more raw... well hard to explain. you actually have to hear them next to eachother. :)

also i don't have the combo but run the top into an ampeg 4 10" which is actually a cab designed for bass so that changes the sound a lot too so i can't actually make a proper demo of what an orange rocker 30 actually sounds like with certain guitars etc. what i can say though is that its simplicity is a pro for some, and a downside for others depending on what your after eh ? and the extra gain stage is also not something everyone likes, it's not 'classic' orange.

i'm after that single coil orange crunch kinda tone and probably a nice clean sound out of it. is yours the 30 watt head? i did think of getting the head and using the tweed as a cab. getting a head-switcher to switch between the two.

yeah it's 30watts (but that's more than enopugh of tube powarr  )

hm, head might be handy, if the cab and top 'work well' together, but if they don't oh noes ! haha

The bit at the end when you say FAIL is cute as fuck.

I think it sounds dead good with the Mustang, the character of the guitar really shines through. I wasn't really a fan of the Hondo which was pretty muddy.

That hondo sounds like it would be amazing through something like the champ 600 on full volume.

thanks heavium, i'm quite liking that sound. do you find you have problems with just having a volume on the clean channel?. it sounds really nice.

what is that your playing? sound familiar.

FTW heavium :D

I love my rocker 30. The natural channel sounds great IMO. It works great for what it is supposed to do....and you just cannot beat the sound of the dirty channel. I push mine with a overdrive on top of dirty channel and I get great harmonics out of it. You won't be disapointed with a R30.
