rofl, wtf? Were you cutting the strings with your skin? Harder things cut softer things, that's how things are separated into more than one piece. Just measure the string out to 2 tuners up, cut it, dip the freshly cut end into the hole, bend it, and wrap around.

I keep wanting to post that diagram but have no idea where it is on my photobucket and am sick of ratting through my hard drive for it to upload.

the video should just be you sitting in your room screaming "LOOK IT UP ON GOOGLE, IT'S PROBABLY THE 3RD RESULT ON THE LIST" through a megaphone, then beating your chest in a murderous frenzy and howling like a wild animal.

MaMo put a link to another noob asking the same question on the first page of this thread, and you posted it in there.

As a tip for the topic in-hand, the easiest way to measure two tuners worth of length for the e and b strings is to pull the string to them as normal, grip it where it meets and then move that grip so its next to the g string tuner, and cut at the e.

Sounds useful.

Changing strings is one of those things you sort of have to learn on your own, books and website didn't ever really help me. Took a few eye and hand stabbings before I got it.

OK video is done. I hope I covered it well enough to be of some help for people struggling.

[GVideo]http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doc ... 3&hl=en-GB[/GVideo]

fortunately I think there is just enough ill placed groin shots to keep people happy.
