Champ 600 Done Broken again
I'm clueless when it comes to amps, but basically it was all fine until I swapped around a pedal and I unplggued the patch cable and the champ went POP and started humming very loudly, I took out the guitar cable and it was still humming. I can still smell burning, I've opened it up but I can't see anything obvious wrong but like I said, I know f-all about amps.
HALP.

Pure rock tones!
sucks dude you have had no luck with that amp.

Is it still under a year old.... If so call Fender, you take it to an authorised dealer at Fenders request they pick it up fix it and send it back to the dealer.Zaphod wrote:Would they just give me somewhere authorised to take it and get it fixed?
I'm sure warranties don't carry over when you buy stuff used so it's gonna cost me either way :/.
In America they give it to a 'qualified tech' over here they take it to one central place worked wonders for me
awww shit just read the bit about it being used..... but I'd still try it they were fantastic people to deal with.... I'm sure they'd try and help
No chance you could sort it with a multimeter and schematics yourself, or know anyone in person that could help?
As far as electric guitar amplifiers go, the Champ 600 style is pretty bog-standard. I know this one might be faffed around a bit physically but it should be the same principle. Every guitar amp company has made one at some point since the 50's.

this is true. it is one of the most basic amps ever made. I'd still see if you can get it fixed under warranty but if that falls through it would be a great learning experience to fix it yourself.paul_ wrote:No chance you could sort it with a multimeter and schematics yourself, or know anyone in person that could help?

That would be awesome if you could speak to the shop for me.
Could proggy walk itnot he shop and never let on that he sold it? I'd assume there's still a receipt knockin gabout, or would they know your face?
Whe I blew mine up, I got a replacement without ecen asking for one. The guy in the shop recognised me and just handed me one off the shelf. I didn't even show him a receipt.
