I have a hotrod deville 2x12 and it was $800 new. So ask for half that price and see if they'll go for it.

I think it was 4x 10"

to the people that have one, is it a versatile amp? (my playing style ranges from hardcore/street punk, grunge, hard/pop rock, blues rock, pop-punk)

Never played one, but I've listened to some demos, sounds good.

Yeah, pretty much just standard fender clean, so if you have some effects it'll do pretty much anything. The distortion side of the amp is okay, its really dynamic, but also kind of lacking in the tone department, not bad for blues though.

Also, like alot of fenders, there is about 3 volumes. Mushy and too soft, decent, and then loud. The pot is only really doing anything between like 1 and 4. Over 4 is like full volume and under 1 is nothing.

I am exagerating a little bit, but they are pretty bad that way. But, if you need some versatility at differnet volumes, there is always a volume pedal.

I woudl go in and offer them 350 cash for it as it is. If it is at a jam place, it has probably been played to death and could easily be ready for tubes, etc.

If it seems like it is in great shape and you really like the tone, for up to 450. No more I would say.

been interested in this amp too, I've quickly gotten annoyed with the crate v-50, it's good for what I payed, and it sounds okay...but it's not really versatile and if I change around the EQ, the amp isn't very responsive..

how much do classics go for used?

Look up the classic 30, classic 50, and Delta Blues.

EVERYONE that has played my hotrod deville 2x12 will tell you how awesome it sounds. Its lovely. Only thing I hate is the master volume is very sensitive.

i loved my 4x10
paid 400
honestly, though, i think now i'd prefer the peavey classic.
the main difference is that while the fender has a really nice clean, it's overdrive is kinda weird
the peavey clean comes really close, and the over drive is better.
that said, i don't think 350-400 is bad at all and it's a fun amp to have.

Aye, I just want to put this in here though, my brothers deville 4x10 kicked the bucket recently, although he does gig/practice fairly often, and may have poured a Orange juice on it.

But for what its worth, I love my 2x12 deville, has nice sound across the board. The 4x10 has better treble response than the 2x12, but the 2x12 has a stronger bottom end, so its really your call.

I really try to keep my tone with as little bass as I can, without making it shitty.
