fender reverb tank

Post by robert(original) »

i have been toying with the idea of these things.
has anyone had any experience with them?
i like the idea of a tube driven reverb, but not the 400+ price tag.
does anyone know something similer but a bit cheaper?
or is there a good way to jimi rig a spring reverb tank to have ins and outs with a volume?
i might be bighting off more than i can chew with this one.

naw, its fer my bassman.
im trying to find something with a good splashy wet extreme, to a subtle feel, there are some pedals that sound appealing, but then i remembered the fender reverb tank, i wasnt sure if there was a comparible model for half the cost.
who woulda thought how much i miss reverb.

heard they build some clones of this thing in USA. Never seen one, though. There is a Tube Reverb Unit by Vermona available: http://www.vermona.com/index.php?en_retube , but it's still quite expensive. And it looks like a computer.

I have one for my Bandmaster. The ones made by Premier (50s and 60s) are a little less expensive. Valco/Gretsch/Airline/Supro made one too.

Here's a Premier:

Looks pretty sweet, and not that much more expensive than these chinese danelectro things ... wish I was in the USA, I'd shop guitar gear all day   THis one should work perfect with a Vibro Champ.

I've been looking to make a clone of the fender 6G15 reverb:

First, I need to man up about the voltages.
