New Zvex Effects

Like nothing you've ever heard before, this unit is not crazy like the fuzz factory, but allows subtle adjustments to a basic very heavy subby fuzz that works well on guitar, bass, keyboards and recorded tracks. Because it has the "push/relax" knob, you can easily adjust the input impedance from the front panel of the unit, allowing you to adjust the way the fuzz reacts to your playing style. The 3-position subs switch lets the user set how much sub content comes out of the pedal... the widely-variable fuzz control coupled with the tone control and pulse-width control give you amazing control over the detail of the waveshape, sustain, attack, decay and texture of the fuzz. I'll have sound files up within a week. 8^)

It is the Distrotron Engine side of the Box of Rock with a gain boost switch and sub frequency control switch. Setting 3 is the full subs you get with the Box of Rock. Settings 1 and 2 have reduced subs. Lo gain is the normal BOR level. Hi is boosted gain.

The Distortron will retail for $149.00 in the US.

ROLF. So lazy. So that's 3 SHO's in a row with some filtering and the tone control from the BSIAB with OMG.. three different coupling caps on a switch. ZOMG I imagine the Gain boost is just a resistor swap/removal in the first SHO stage.

Way to get mileage out of one idea.

Why do I get the vague impression that ZVex is a penis?

Basically people are stopping buying bootique and he needs to be making cheaper pedals stat.

I can't imagine many of the amp makers that appeared in the last 4 years are going to last longer.

i'm not gonna be all negative because i haven't heard them yet but judging from what i just read they're just slightly altered version of his flagship pedals... not very creative.
which is a bit dissappointing yeah.
it makes me think of what i heard justin meldal say in that fuzz docu about how cool it is when pedalbuilders come with something that doesn't sound like aything else and is totally surprising and unpredictable so it's also inspiring as you play.. i thought zvex belonged in that category too (well he 'did' ?) but now it seems like being innovative doesn't count, people will buy the pedals because it says zvex ?
