My Melody Maker (big porno clips)
Moderated By: mods
mine's similar, i think. not flat at all, but narrow. almost like its as deep as it is wide. the radius normal gibson, seems like 12", but the flatness i think is an illusion caused by the narrowness. thats kind of how radii work.
once i got used the the narrowness, the neck fits like a glove. i love it.

here is an image i actually took, as opposed to the ebayer i got it from.
the color of the finish/ guard is actually more green/yellow than his pics, but less than mine.
edit: actually thats pretty close, it just is kinda dark, probably from the light coming in through the window.
also, i will be putting the old knobs back on. i was kinda dicking around with different stuff, but i think i like the vintage ones better.

Couldn't you just chuck the ill-advised upgrades on that blue strat instead?
thanks!
i find it ironic that you would suggest the upgrades to the strat (which a fairly collectable E series 86 MIJ), since i would have to permanently modify the strat to perform them, whereas the melody maker could be returned to stock.
anyhow, im reconsidering the extensive upgrades, but i will be changing the pickup to a fralin steel poled mustang pickup, which of course will look like this
but perhaps will fit inside the original cover. if not, whatever. maybe ill try to age it to match the pickguard.
this will keep it looking old and great (it really is beautiful, isnt it? ) but it will sound more like a junior and less like a nasally earsplitting bottomendless squealfest, which is what it is now. it really is. it needs a warmer hotter pickup, for real.
hey! finally someone recognizes. i saw "Nick" but for some reason assumed it was someone else... not sure where i got that idea.Nick wrote:Man, long time no see Will.
Ace guitar, no harm in reversible mods....it's all quite different than routing for a floyd/buckers or something.
You still use aim?
glad you see it my way regarding mods.
i dont use aim anymore, but i am on gmail much of the time. thats pretty much my only IMing hub nowadays.

JUST KIDDING!
But fraudulent ebay listings are no laughing matter, kids.
http://cgi.ebay.com/COLLECTOR-VINTAGE-1 ... =72%3A1205
this is about the worst ive ever seen. it MUST be a true custom gibson factory refin, gibson always scrawled "REFINI5ED" with an ice pick into the wet paint under the pickguard in 81.
and im sure the custom shop was generally putting vintage patent number PAFs and DiMarzios in their finest works. with mounting rings! (those cost extra)
EDIT: just noticed this
