Opal Guitar

Post by jcyphe »

I can't find much info on these besides a couple of eBay auctions. I think the guy makes them and then sells them on flebay. Pre-fab Stew Mac neck and the headstock shape is the most boring feature, the rest of the construction is neat, like Dano style but with Masonite and Formica, so it's not painted.

That's a pretty cool axe, but you're right the headstock is kinda gay!

So is the word 'axe' and quoting an entire post when you're the first to reply.

I love it so much. Was gonna buy it for the Stacey then realised the auction had ended. $500!! That's fuckin £250 for handmade formica awesomeness.

The rabbit is refecting on jazz.

Yes - everything is homosexual. Including rabbits into jazz.

It looks like a soviet car or summat. Odd, but cute.

I linked this guitar maker awhile back.

He's got a new design.

I like the new headstock better, but the "O" tailpiece of the last one better. Looks like he's going for that Supro vibe though with this one.

That's pretty cool. I'd prefer it with a second pickup, but the body and pickguard shapes are awesome. The Reverendish chrome strip where your forearm would sit is a nice touch. I agree about the headstock being better and the tailpiece being worse.

That first design looks a lot like a Micro-Frets model from the 60's. The guitarist from the Chameleons had one. It seems like they're taking orders again.

I dig those little chrome armrests. It's overdone on Reverends, but it always makes me think of a Vega Senator:
