Pat Smear Jaguar

Just been watching Foo Fighters live at Wembley on C4 +1 and noticed not only Pat smear was performing with them but he seems to playing a Jag HH... anyone know more about this guitar ? Is it simply just a modded Jag HH ?

From what I can see... No top control and maybe a guard fitted to also exclude the pickup rings too.

Actually he is a touring guitarist, and aren't the Foo Fighters on hiatus?

He was pretty much playing just for the one track I think... I hear he just dips in and out of the bands performances now. Not a full time member as far I know.

Strange to watch the gig now... I was working that day in large music shop less than 5 mins from the stadium, and we had the Foo Fighters techs in store picking up some bits & pieces for the show, mainly percussion stuff for Taylor Hawkins.

Yeh I think it is true... not clued up with the Foo Fighters anymore... but I did hear an interview with Dave Grohl on the radio and something of that nature was mentioned...

i think its a jag hh, or one of those elusive bottomasters.
seems like its larger on his frame than a normal guitar, and knowing pat, its probly a weirder tuned fender rather than a straight ahead jag hh, or a toronado.

rob that pic you posted, bothers the piss out of me, does anyone else notice that the bridge needs to be like 1.5 mms towards the treble side, or maybe just 1 full mm.
and it looks like the neck spacing is the same as the bridge.

Pat almost exclusively uses Hagstrom guitars. He has been using them since his days with Germs and has been collecting them ever since. He has been noted as having one of the largest collections of Hagstrom guitars in the United States. He lists Gibson guitars as his second favorite, notably the SG.

When I saw him play with the Germs last summer, he had three of the same guitar in different colors and (presumably) different tunings. I couldn't say for sure, but I think they were Hagstroms.
