Bullet Strat ideas

Black is too 80s... As for tortoiseshell, as an owner of actual tortoises, I'm glad that their shells don't look like tort as applied to guitars, and no, I don't think it goes with sonic or daphne

I personally think those guitars actually look really cool with a clean, one ply white guard, just like candy... White 'roes would impress me even more on one for the same reasons.

Mint I can see being ok though.

blue and tort is good. just make sure to get a good tort. that fender brown extra swirly tort is awful. you can see the dots, like it was printed on a white guard with a bubble jet printer. yuck.

id rather something be "ugly" than boring, dig?

also, tort with your poleless laces will be nice looking.

BTW i can't for the life of me remember or find that guitar maker app. where in the world (ww) is it?

I really wish the Bullet Strat was made left handed. I would have Strats everywhere.

I'm pretty pissed off their has been no new lefty guitars from Squier in the time that I've been playing which is like 8 years now.

The Bullet STrat neck is quite good, better than what you would expect for the money. Here's what was changed on mine:

- aged white 3-ply-pickguard (not important, but looks better)
- Steel bridge Saddles (seems to be a good investion)
- String trees (looks nice, but not necessary)
- New pickups (leosounds red house set) + cream white covers (great investion! If I sell the guitar, it will feel bad to let these pups go ... )

What should be changed in future:

- tuners
- maybe add additional spring feather to the trem unit
- strings

She sounds and plays good, but I simply don't like Strats. That's what I learned from it. So maybe I'll stop modding it and just sell it. Just don't know if I should take the more expensive parts out and sell for less than 100 or keep it as it is and try to sell it for 150 ...

this is going to be unpopular but jonny greenwood and billy corgan both had some amazing and influential tonez with their lace sensors. also, stuart of mogwai i think played a tele plus, early on.

to me, the fuzz+ lace sensors is one of the top tones of the 90s. i can still listen to cherub rock, or like herod, or paranoid android and get teh chub for 90s nostalgia, and its linked to the guitar tone, for sure.

Yeah, it's not impossible to sound good with them, but to me they just take away a lot of the sparkle and twang that I like about single coils... To me they sound more like a split 'bucker, but I know some people actually might like that tone... Plus it's in an SC sized hole, so I just keep thinking of the potential the guitar has to sound more like I'd want it to

I do admit, the concept behind the Lace doubles is pretty cool though...

Love old Pumpkins, I guess the Laces don't get in the way, but then again I always figured that there was enough distortion that the pickups didn't matter as much...

This is a Bullet Strat. I found the original neck very playable but it felt weak, like you could bend notes sharp or flat by adding very pressure. So i added a MIK neck and vanity decal.

ive always thought they kinda sounded smoother and more clear and even with fuzz than normal strat pups. this might have to do with their relatively soft magnetic pull on the strings. you dont get as much dissonance and harmonic interference with them.

this might also be part of the lack of sparkle and twang. less harmonically rich, maybe. they def. have less character.

that's a squier bullet.

we're talking about bullet strats. that's what i was saying, was the neck on my BULLET was shit. and the Bullet Strat i played at musicians fiend was exactly the same. down to the tuners. <3 Indonesia

yes, the "bullet strats" are also squier bullets. there's been about 10 different variations of squier bullets over the years. people aren't too stressed about keeping on topic around here. we let the thread move along like a normal conversation.

but i've been achin for a classic vibe tele/strat [the 60s strat sounds delish]

spend 225 on a cheesy guitar [will spend more upgrading it]
OR, get a classic vibe and hot pickups

yes, but the one pictured probably came with the better neck. the orange with black hardware, and then all black ones were the first two issues, and when the blue with black pg and chrome were released, they had the stated "plastic-wood" neck.

sure, even 'normal conversations' have corrections and clarifications.
