I had a bunch of leftover tolex so I did a facelift on my Vox AD15VT. what do you think?

re-tolexing isn't big deal at all. It just take some time and practice at some corner situations. The best way it when you ripping the old off take note of how they tolexed the corners and redo it that way. The smell of the contact cement is the only thing that sucks about tolexing.

I think for someone who is comfortable working with your hands on what I would call "real" DIY work, then I think you're right - but I'm useless with anything non electronic and would find myself glued to the ceiling by my trousers in seconds.
