The Technology of the Fuzz Face article at GeoFX says the battery impedance can also have a role in setting the bias on the transistors.
There's a video at Fender of EJ playing through a digital amp - sounds exactly the same.
I dig the guy. He has a good sense of melody and knows when not to shred. I'm not into strats, but I will consede that his siggy strat was the finest I've ever played.
It's shit that they're mostly the old strats and tele's, whish they had some new '09 Mustang or something. A new model which sometime in the future people might want to get, like us getting a '67 or another vintage model. I was reading a small article in a guitar magazine about the Fender Standard ranging getting new colours.. a Lake Placid Blue Tele seems cool, but, still just a standard telecaster.
They could do a one pickup Musicmaster, or whatever it's called with no trem, just the 3 saddle jobbie to keep costs down. The cool kids would buy that, I think.
But I have to wonder how many people actually buy Jags, Jazzmasters, and Stangs even when they are available.
Fender makes all that lame shit like Sigs and Relics because they sell, a lot.
If you want to see that go away don't touch these relics, don't go anywhere near them, make funny faces at people you see playing them.

relics are sorta cool if you want that semi-vintage vibe but.... like breast implants its not the same as the real thing.
strats and teles are fun to play but they need to put limit on how many to put out there and reissue some old ones and make new ones
Why would they put digital effects on a valve amp?
Because they want it to break down in 5 years so you buy a new one.
Good call, its not like they couldnt have just made bandmasters by using extra super reverb circuits, and moving the valve sockets.
they've probably got leftover parts from the cyber series. that, and someone must have seen that people buying Line6 amps and using effects, so figured they'd put a crappy dsp chip in the amp aswell. because, hey, it's gonna sound better than someone buying their own dedicated effects isn't it?
and why have 8 different colours of HRDlx speaker enclosures (1x12), but no extension cabs for the DeVille?!!
3000 - GBP or USD? Squier did do a Venus XII, so it's not like they haven't made one using almost all on the same parts before... if they could price it the same as the dano twelve stringer, would easily be a winner.,,
