lefty duo-sonic II body
Does anyone know where i could get a lefty duo-sonic II body made? I have a toronado bridge that i want to use and i can get lefty necks from warmoth or USA Custom guitars but the body seems to be the needle in the haystack.

no, no, no.
it was alot of noob style dood that would get a good project body at about 20-40 bucks and then never post again.
the only reason i did the shit in the first place was to raise 50 extra bucks for a book for my ole lady and about 1/3 of the bodies i made were for 14 year old kids that never did anything with them and or sold them for 3x what i made them for.
if a good shortscaler asks, then yes, i will make a body, otherwise. piss off, im too busy planting my own.

Robert, I accept your not wanting to make a lefty duo body. That being said, i tried to get Warmoth, USA Custom guitars and Bill Callaham to machine a run of original style duo II bridges and they woudn't do it because of a lack of interest here-not because i didn't try. I actually had a late '90's Japanese mustang that i fell in love with but had a hard time playing because the nut width was only like an inch and a half wide-way too narrow for my 49 year old cobbler type hands. So i sold it. I would never try and con anyone into doing something they don't want to do-someone will have the time and inclination and i'll work with them. I'll end my post with this thought: It's difficult to be a good "shortscaler" when you actually can't ever have one!!!

Robert, if you do decide to do my lefty duo, there is much i need to know. I have the toronado bridge like Mike has so the screw pattern is different that the original '65 type. Also, Mike mentioned in his posts/video that the bridge was not the same height as the original and he had to take some material off the neck pocket AND shim under the bridge with CD's (i think). I'm thinking of a neck from USA Custom (maple/maple) so i can have the truss rod adjustment at the headstock. Also, i'm going for pick-ups from Adeson (in U.K.) that are larger than the standard mustang pick-up dimensions-still single coil, but more to the burns tri-sonic size. So, if you do decide to do it, (and i completely understand if you don't), let's talk.

Didn't he just say he didn't want to do it.
You have like 10 posts. When he talked about being a good shortscaler, he meant people who were on the forum a while and he was comfortable with.
He's had a lot of bad experiences with new users, so stick around and gain his trust or buzz off. I'm only saying something cause he's too nice a guy, and he keeps getting burned for it.

Listen jcyphe, if you read Robert's post above mine you would notice that he said to Fran that he may get motivated to do it while doing a body for him. And if you could read my post i said i would completely understand if he didn't want to-but IF he did we need to talk as there are some technical difficulties that would be alot easier to work out BEFORE anything started. As far as having only 10 posts, i'd have alot more to add if i actually had a PROJECT to undertake and lets face it, there are a ton of posts that don't add much of anything (like a single emoticon). I don't know about Robert's history of getting burned by people, or why these people did what they did, but i'm a man of my word-always have been. So jcyphe, if this isn't a forum for the exchange of information and services-do let me know!!! If it is, and my seeking information or services in an honest and up-front way gets your knickers in a twist, then perhaps you would be so nice as to vacate the thread i started for the sole purpose of finding people with the information and sevices i need!!!

He didn't say he'd do it for you, he said he has an apprentice named Mo, who might try it. You're being awful pushy and annoying when Rob already told you NO. This actually is not the forum for this sort of thing.
That's the classifieds and you are not supposed to conduct business outside of it, and in fact you don't even have enough posts to see the classifieds. Your breaking forum rules left and right.
Your whole attitude sucks for guy that nobody on here knows, and your expecting him to do some highly custom work for you.

first of.
jcycphe, thank you.
newb, listen to him he has good points, altho they are sometimes.... sharp, they are still good.
honestly mo and i had NO time today, i had a lefty epiphone bolt on, a global hummingbird copy(i had to re-build all of tuners, ask mo, it was insanely stupid time comsuming)
an alvarev 12 string to drop off,
plus making templates off an 8 string bass body.
oh yeah, and the washburn that needed a fret dress(altho i did not get to it)
in all reality mo is not quilified enough for me to just let him go at it in my shop.
i will certainly assist him in whatever he is doing,IF, i have the time.
just be patient and stick around.
like i illuded to before, i may have the time or the wild hair up my ass to make one, or have mo make one for practice.

I feel like i've gotten off to a completely fucked up start here. Not wanting to drag anyone through any of this anymore i will surrender the cause. I will search elsewhere. Thanks to those of you that offered up good points.
