Badwater Guitars 'relic'd interest'

Post by Fran »

Made by AXL. Not new news they came out in 2007 but after the 'steampunk' thread i thought i would post about these, the Tele and V are definiyely halfway there. I also tried the Flying V yesterday and to say they retail at only $199 is astounding. They have good specs and won awards in a handfull of guitar magazines. See what you think...

This is the first Tele-alike i have had gas for in years..

Not so extreme..

Now, why the fuck did they cut that circular hole out? I would have bought this outright if it was'nt for that. P90s on a V FTFW!!

Yeah, i think its awesome. Alder bodies too, EMG designed pickups... The necks on them supposed to have that 'worn in' feel like your vintage faves.

I dicked with one of the white telecasters a while back and it felt surprisingly solid.

Fran, have you started repping for AXL? If so, I reckon you should join that racist punk band and earn your money that way. At least you'd be able to sleep at night.

I think they are interesting guitars, sure AXL has a reputation for being rammel but these are decent.
Lol @ punk jibe, they phoned me this morning, the singer said if i join they will be an eastern european pikey band (not punk) being as the bassist is latvian and my background. I'm all for stealing lead off pub roofs at gigs

They look dangerous. Those edges can put an eye out.

They're all a bit manky. I've nothing against pointed bits on guitars, but you can't make the horn on a tele pointed, it just looks stupid. The V almost looks nice. The P90s and body finish work well. The pickguard and weird cutout in the body shape look rubbish. As does the headstock.

I'm all for people trying new things with guitars. Taking an existing design and making a few bits pointy isn't very new or exciting though.
