I would say forget it that these 5 W tube amps may crank at a volume that is acceptable in a normal appartment house ... it's not. Sadly most of these come without master vol. That is why I changed to a Fender Blues Junior as home amp. It sounds much more flexible at both lower and higher volumes. And it has an EQ.
Besides that, among the 5 W - not EQ- no Master Vol amps the Fender is the best in my opinion. Maybe because it has a better stock speaker than the Epiphone Valve Junior, Fame Tube 5 and others.

I've just bought a Champ, it was delivered yesterday...
It was only £90 delivered from this place http://www.gjsguitars.com/index.jsp
However, when I checked the site this morning to get the link, I couldnt find the offer anymore, so they may have sold out already...
It's a great little amp, the infamous hum isn't half as bad as it was being made out in the reviews....

Naw the hum is fine, and it's a low hum so just put a low pass filter over any recordings you get it on and it's gone.vivadeluxxe wrote:I've just bought a Champ, it was delivered yesterday...

this should be the opposite. a high pass should get rid of low hum, right?Zaphod wrote:Naw the hum is fine, and it's a low hum so just put a low pass filter over any recordings you get it on and it's gone.vivadeluxxe wrote:I've just bought a Champ, it was delivered yesterday...
