Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

It doesn't matter. The usage is derogatory in that context.

On the original point of the thread, I'm unsurprised, they're not going to take their time like Custom Shop Relics.

i played a joe stummer tele and thought that type of relicing was kinda gay it was like some paint sprayed on top of other colours of paint.

The original was primer and black paint, which was worn back by use. That's why there are multiple paint colours on the Strummer Telecaster

I know, but it was all smooth, it wasn't like it was worn down, it was kinda gayz.

the whole guitar basically felt the same as one of those AXL teles, no shit.

hurb, dots and i came into contact with a few SHIT "relic" jobs on fender guitars yesterday...fender needs to GTFO their kick with relic'ing...like now. the strummer tele, confirmed by all of us, looked like utter balls.

and nick's original point was dead-on. we found the same exact "wear" on the front of all the "relic'd" road worn guitars.

fuck fake relic'ing in the asshole.

it really looks shit up close. we all confirmed it was like they wrapped a sticker around the body of the guitar that happened to look like a "worn" tele...it played okay...but the finish is SHIT.

I've played one and so clearly seen it up close, I don't mind it at all.

I saw one recently and was unimpressed with it, but the first one I ever saw/played I almost bought. Each one is different on the strummer tele's I think. If not, maybe they have gotten "cheaper" with the finish work on it.

I liked the strummer teles. But I won't buy a new guitar with actual rust all over it.

I can't imagine the word 'mong' not being a derivation.

saw these for myself at GC. (they didnt even have the d'addario 10s i needed, or my picks, or any jazzmasters at all. and they were, unsurprisingly assholes again. not going back, for real this time.)

OMG. so terrible. its like they have never seen a vintage fender.

and i didn't realise they were MIM...

WTF. 1000 dollars MIM?! ridiculous. should be a preworn highway 1, at least.

anyway, thought id weigh in another first hand account.

The ProGuitarShop.com owner posts on HCFX and said that he thought these might be a hit, but wished they'd done Jags and Jazzys as they would have been more interesting and probably would have sold by the bucketload. I think he's right.

As much as I diss the Road Worn nature of these things, I reckon I'm a fickle bastard and would probably get all uppity in my pants about a Jaguar in one of the blue shades similarly beaten up.
