Unless you want to rock out hard, in which case the mustang bridge will allow you o go to about 8 on the rockter scale. The strings WILL fly off your stock bridge as soon as you think about playing hard.

I was gonna post my Mascis demo but I donno if it answers any questions.

Eh who cares it's an awesome demo.

The stock Mascis bridge was shit- high strings kept slipping because I wanted my action low so I replaced it with a roller bridge which didn't fit perfectly so we had to wrap paper around it for a more snug fit. I'll try to get a pic and more specific answers later today after I catch some ZZs but here's pics of the old bridge (note: Same bridge, pickguard change)

And here's my most excellent demo:

I've never owned a Jag or Jazz to be able to comment much on the stock bridge, but a Mustang bridge certainly looks better.

wow, that seems a bit harsh, considering the mustang bridge just drops in the same holes and can be swapped out rapidly for the og bridge whenever you feel like it.

overreacting about nerdy guitar tech stuff and saying things like "wanting to kill yourself for being an idiot" is a "NOOB move"

Doog has a Mustang bridge on his Jazzy, it's clearly not a n00b fix.

I got a mustang bridge on my Jazzmaster too. The stock bridge is one of the worst things Leo fender or who ever designed it at Fender ever made.

This is interesting shit. Lerrus know how this works out.
I will! I sent them an e-mail and their parts dept confirmed that it should fit. I'll post on here when it arrives!

I dont see how looking at Roachellas bridge, unless they supply you the cups to sit in the original cups or you do a total modification. You have some neck shimming to do anywayz.

Thats not the kind of bridge we're talking about, yo. Thats a Tune O matic. Those MIMs are amazing in every way. We're bitching about the shitty old school bridge/saddle/string flinging mechanism.

I'm not overreacting, I'm trying to help someone by telling them to actually try and set it up first the right way instead of just tossing it to the side and dropping something else in its place just because everyone else does it. It will be a great learning experience and then he can change to the mustang bridge and KNOW the difference and KNOW which one will work for the best for his particular style of playing. Asking everyone else what to do won't gain you the knowledge you'll learn from EXPERIENCING it first hand.

Not everyone puts BASS strings on their guitar and tunes to B. Only ONE AEN can exist in this world.

"wanting to kill youself for being an idiot" over drop-in replacing a bridge is overreacting.

why defend the old design when the fix is so easy? almost everyone agrees that the mustang is a better design. and they are cheap and easy to attain. and they look better (imo)

also, if aen can rock to 8 on a stang bridge, the rest of us should hit 10 or 11 just fine with our spaghetti strings. :P

I just find it to be a pointless thing to do when the original is so easy to sort out. I mean people should do what they want with their guitars, but I think it's a bit lazy to put a Mustang bridge on.

Almost everyone who is a noob.

Screwdriver is cheaper and easier to attain and is an even easier fix than a mustang bridge.
