I got nothing against you, so please don't take anything personal.

Please stick around and enjoy the boards.

To OP....

You have to understand that the banter from RobOg and Fran on a $40 body for a Chet Akins was just that banter. Of course he is not going to make a $40 hollowbody guitar. Even RobOg saying that his "apprentice" might make one for you for practice was a kind of nice way of saying no after he already said no up front. That being said, the people on here are really cool and there is good reason to stick around and learn some. Just don't expect people to cut you slack if you don't take very obvious hints. It's not personal.

Mickie08, Tha funny thing is that i pm'ed Rob before i started this thread and he said explicitly no then. But i don't have oldtime insight as to how you guys banter back and forth. When he stated that he might have Mo (whom i don't know either) make one and that i might be in luck-when i read that i thought he might be changing his mind. It didn't seem like a definite NO at THAT point-even though he said no before and i accepted it. Remember folks that Noobishness flows both ways and you are as new to me as i am to you and i wouldn't expect to be cut slack for direct disregard of rock-solid hints, but can you see here where i might have misunderstood? To me the NO seemed to be being reconsidered and all i was asking was that we talk IF there was a positive re-direction. It's all good here on this end, and i will hang around but will continue to look elsewhere as i may be new to you guys but i suffer from the same long-term affliction that you do and need this fix!!! Cheers to you all, thanks for the advice and i don't get bubble boy either-is that my noobishness or is that dude just whacked?

It's not noobishness, that's just terronado. He sucks and despite being either ignored or called out continues to suck. Please don't let him be the one to detract you from the board.

Just an update on my search for the lefty duo sonic body. I'm probably the last one to figure this out but i just found Guitar Mill and they do lefty mustang bodies. I talked to Mario there and he said they could also leave out the mustang tremolo route (and, i'm assuming, the bridge drilling too) so they probably could do varying degrees of custom work. I also asked if they could route for a jag/jazz tremolo and he said he could. I'm STOKED!!! I figure i'm going to need at least two duo/stang/uars and, for my first project, i'm leaning towards an ash body with clear finish, maple/maple neck/fretboard and 1&11/16th nut width, black pickguard, Adeson Fenton Weill standard pick-ups with plain covers, 3-way toggle on lower bout, mustang bridge with jazz/jag tremolo and.....oh man, i think i need to drain my depends just from thinking about it!!!
