The BD-2 is so trebly it's ridiculous. Ice pick city but it sounds so good at low volume. Odd.

which is my main annoyance with it. mainly why i change my pedals around so much. the only things that really change is my dirt pedals and sometimes i'm sad enough to use a wah lol. i'm gonna sell the bd-2.

so while my marshall is out of commission, here's the pedal board i'm using now:

Image

signal goes:

jag >> strobe-o-stomp tuner >> fish & chips eq >> modded muff fuzz >> saltbooster (set for overdrive) >> fat booster (set for healthy boost w/ a skosh of gain) >> fender starcaster chorus >> boss dd-6 delay >> super deluxe reverb.

sounded really good at last rehearsal using my stock avri jag. the cleans were, of course, to die for, but i really liked the way this combination of dirt pedals reacted with each other. i never felt like i was lacking lows or highs, and even though the modded muff isn't my usual poison for intense overdrive, i definitely had a presence in the mix at rehearsal on tuesday. as always, aen's fat booster (later dubbed the plane ticket i think) was able to push me above the mix for any solo action i tried. who'da thunk? the anti pedal geek guy is rockin three boutique stomp boxes for his main tonal shape. wild.

i might try the hh jag again with its p90 setup next week and report back.

Happy vibes to see some shortscale crafted boxes on the board there. I know you're not a fuzz guy, but I was hoping the changes I made to the Muff would make it more to your liking than a scooped saturated standard Muff.

oh, absolutely. that switch makes all the difference, and i'm cool with jamming as long as it takes with this setup. . . maybe even thereafter!

U1 = fingerpicking
Mustang = strumming
v
The wah is from Target. True bypass, modded to Clyde McCoy schematic. The knob on the left controls midrange, the switch disconnects the battery so I can leave it plugged in.
v
Ampeg Jet II (Reverbojet) w/ new Alnico speaker.

Bring on the WAH HAET.

dude, people don't realize the fucking awesome potential of wah pedals. just 'cause so many wankers use them to get cheesy sounds. other than distortion nothing else can give you so many intense sounds. you know how dudes like j mascis and brad laner got those wild fucking sounds? fucking VOX WAHWAH.

It's true. Any effect sounds wank if you sweep the control from 0 to 10 on every down beat.

My pedals! mostly home made with a little help from Boss and Mike.

Image

Boss tuner > salt booster > BYOC rat clone > vintage muff clone/delay in the same box (both BYOC boards) > BYOC phaser > Tiny Terror and orange 1x12 cab.

One day i'll paint them and maybe split up the muff and delay. Delay gets used a lot with the band, but muff is useless live. Oh and it has a creamy dreamer switch, boosts and turns it into a corgan fan's wet dream.

Even though Corgan only used it like once apparently and never live or on record...

Compare this bollocks the kid wrote
"Listen closely to the forthcoming Smashing Pumpkins record and you'll notice a new guitar sound, thanks to a Pembroke, Ontario, teenager. Jeff Doucette, 19, developed "The Creamy Dreamer" effect pedal in his electronics class when he was only a ninth grader, according to Monday's Toronto Sun. The enterprising teen subsequently started up his own Smashing Pumpkins-themed web site, offering pedal modifications and custom guitar electronics, and eventually found a business partner with whom he introduced his own line of guitar pedals. When the Creamy Dreamer was ready, Doucette sent one off to Billy Corgan and James Iha. Within a week of receiving it, they emailed him back, asking to work out both an endorsement and a signature series . . ."
to what Corgan has said:
Billy Corgan wrote:"This is a perfect example of someone exploiting a situation. What happened was some kid came up and told me he had this pedal. So being polite, I sent him an email saying, you know, 'sounds nice...good job' ...and next thing you know it's as if it's the official pedal of the Pumpkins. He's an asshole"
I know Corgan is a dick, but I'm inclined to believe him.
