Post by dawnofzion »

Does anyone happen to have a Telecaster Deluxe template? I am going to start a new project and I am in need of one. Thanks.

I know the body is the same but the routes in the body are what I'm after. (controls, pickups, toggle)

Did they reply at RR? I have a Deluxe I could draw if nobody bites.

Actually it isn't, it's a bit larger and more bulky, not to mention it has two contours.

I would do this for you but I sold mine.

The body is actually larger then a standard tele? I assumed they were the same. I know it has a belly cut. Maybe DGNR8 can trace it all for me.

Yeah, I put it next to my Baja Telecaster after reading that it was, and it's true.

I sold it to NickD last year, we did the exchange at Doogfest, but he kindly paid me a month or so in advance because he's a legend.

I had no idea that the body was larger. Well looks like I really will need someone to draw it up for me. Thanks for that input Mike.

No worries, I just wish I still had the body to sort you out with some help.

Maybe someone on the TDPRI?

I'm not sure if these shots make it obvious or not I'm afraid:

Yea the top horn is a little further forward than a normal Telecaster. Same with my Custom.

I think its one of the reasons why I've always like that style of body.

You might be able to adapt the low-res preview on this page: Tele Deluxe plan

Actually it's pretty detailed for a preview, you wouldn't be much more than a few mm off if you used it as-is:

That guy does nice work. He made the MANDOCASTER plans for me (which NoHos used when they built me one). He needs to make a Starcaster, although his Tonemaster is similar.

I wonder if his plans are actual tele deluxe plans or if he just modified a telecaster plan? maybe DGNR8 could trace his guitar and I can compare it to the plans from this guy and see if his are accurate or not.

I seriously, seriously think that no one would notice or care if a normal Tele was modified for these purposes.

I don't know why, but I like the look of this blue contraption.

It looks like a swimming pool. I never got the appeal of flame/quilt, so I think that guitar would be better served by a pickguard to cover some of it up.
