Yeah I was gonna send you that direct link, but I figure you'd want to check them all out.
re tolex teh Cougar1000?

I think it's boyecho that has this:
I wonder if he retolexed it. I looked into some tolex options a while ago but I had trouble finding colors that were spectacular, or in the range in which I wanted them. From what I remember tolexing a piece of a cab is pretty straight forward, right? Stretch and staple.

What are the measurements of the amp you're covering.

Get the dimensions for the height, width and depth. Then you need...robroe wrote:how many sheets do i need?

depth x width (two of, plus at least 4" to each dimension to give some extra to fold under)
depth x height (as above)
back panels
If they sell it at a standard 54" size, you can use that as one of the measurements and work it out from there.
Imagine it like a sheet of wallpaper. You want enough that you could roll a bit out, sit your amp on it with the wallpaper at the side, and then roll the paper around the side of the amp, over the top, and down the other side to meet the bit on the floor. Plus extra along the edges to fold under.
Shabba.

I remember Mars Music, when i lived in Miami there was a store across the street from me.Sloan wrote:i know!robroe wrote:blue sparkle reminds me of Kustom puffy amps
they have the silver (grey) sparkle too. When MARS MUSIC was going out of business, i was near miami and one of them had a huge HEAVY BALLS KUSTOM SPARKLEY ORGAN. it was so sweet.
What's weird was that it wasn't even like the main store, which was huge. It was a little ass store next to a foot doctor above a blockbuster.
I guess that's why Mars Music went out of business.

my amp came stock in seafoam. it's one of the three they had at NAMM 2003. then they did a series of like 45 more later, i think.
i bugged mojo about seafoam green tolex so i could cover the 15" ext cab i built to match my amp, but they said they didn't have it.
i bugged them a couple of times, and i'm sure lots more people have, and it seems they finally got the hint.
so now i can order a sheet to do my cab. i'm curious if it's the same shade.
i was also going to suggest, rob, you look at auto reproduction interior manufacturers. the vinyl my stepfather got to restore his mustang with is this really awesome light sonicy/yet seafoamish blue/green. the visors/headliner and such have a tolex-like texture to them while the seats are smooth.
