Hideous, aren't they?
It has always baffled me as to why £2000 guitars which sell themselves as being no comprimise on quality and have plenty of features that are purely there for visual purposes (flame tops and the like) use such ugly and cheap looking knobs.

I assume the aim is to sink the Gibsons.

The hollowbody type second row, second from the right, is that the Eko that was mentioned? Can we have more pics of that? I love that sort of thing.

Actually the Gibsons will sink themselves. Their ridiculous weight and the cracks in the headstocks compromising ballast will see to that.

Nice guitars man, and welcome. I'm also a noob here..

I like the pickguards on the 2 basses (first column, 2nd and 3rd ones down), are they custom made?

Are they Gibsons? That would bump some value on that collage if they are.
One Explorer looks like an Epiphine korina model. Nice collection. The PRS thing looks like a Vintage or Gould.

It doesn't matter. The necks are falling off regardless.

I'd assumed it was second row, second from the left, just because the exaggerated horns look like they ought to sound like they're called barracuda, or something.

As a bit of a disclaimer and to stop the thread being derailed -

I've done a fair bit of Gibson bashing lately, mostly because I find it quite funny to joke that the entire neck will spontaneously fall off because the headstocks have a historty of snapping off if they hit the floor.

I quite like a lot of Gibson types, and Les Pauls do sound rather good. They do mostly come in ugly finishes (and those bastard knobs) but they can be very nice indeed from time to time.

The pickguards on those basses as well as on the Squire 51's are custom made.
That is I used adhesive foil, which can be bought at any DIY shop.
There are lots and lots of patterns, colours etc..
And if you don't like it anymore, rip it off and stick another one on it.
Cheap, relatively easy and it works.

The LP's, Flying V and Explorers are all Epiphones.

Trust me, I hate Gibsons with near completeness, but I actually do think speed knobs look cool... And the fact that they've got the trapped-in-plexiglass prism look makes them seem the opposite of cheap to me really. At least compared to hunks of soft plastic.

Quoted because it's just that funny.
