My brother has one and it's a lot of fun to play around with but the keys are tiny... I find it really hard to play that thing.

It does seem pretty odd that he would ignore that question.

Eh, most of us like showing off our gear on the boards, but I can understand and respect someone wanting to keep it on the DL. Besides it's not as if we've ever even heard anything he's recorded that I know of, so why care about his gear?

However, in this thread he mentioned Jazzmaster money which would imply that he has a Jazzmaster right now.

i've got one of these puppies-

picked it up really cheap. the first synth i cut my teeth on was a juno 6, and when i found this i couldn't let it go. i think if i bought any more synths in future i'd go for rackmounts, maybe a dave smith evolver or something.

I have a Jazzmaster, but like I said I hardly ever play it. You guys are not paying attention. I have already said that in many threads. This is not my main guitar and never was.

I have other guitars but I don't want to talk about it cause it's all pretty boring.

The synth discussion is way more interesting.

I didn't start this thread, Mo did. But since the focus was put on me, i tried to take it to something I am currently interested in music wise and people might be able to help me with, and share their opinions.

Its your knowledge alongside not talking much about it, these kids want to see pics of rack upon rack of vintage Mosrites, Danelectros, Gretsch, Hagstroms, Fenders, the odd '59 Les Paul and a Broadcaster in your basement

I don't have any vintage guitars except for Japanese stuff that's old. I guess you could use the word vinatge on it by default. I like new things, even if I do like old designs.

id like to know what synths boards of canada use. those are my favorite synthesizer sounds.

i just couldn't get that driftey sound out of my MK no matter what. it would be the same waveform (sawtooth), same LFO range, rate and shape (sine), same envelope interaction (approximately), but it just never sounded organic and warm like that.

virtual analog just doesn't sound like analog. i will never waste money on another wannabe digital "analog synth" again.

btw, i wish i was frequenting this board when i sold my MK. i would rather have sold it to you guys than some schmuck on ebay.

btw also, im not certain what it is about modelling synths i dont like, technically. it may be that the digital oscillators are fine, but the filters are crap. in such a case, pairing a MKorg with one of these

Image

might be tits. so expensive you might as well just get a little phatty though, and something tells me the digital oscillators are part of the problem.

the thing about analog is that it is unstable, and has a certain purity that digital cant touch. i get so tired of people with no experience with analog synths acting like there is no difference. it isnt mojo.

:/

I've always been interested in his gear too. He seems to be the first to always dismiss something for being 'too mainstreamz'...
It'd be interestin'. Not trying to start any altercations, if you weren't dodging the question my interest would be half of what it is.

The mopho looks so tempting sound wise. Shame about it looking like some DJ/Raver dance tool, graphics wise.
