New Vox amps: TT clone and AC4 reissue

Post by Will »

The Black Diamond series crashed and burned, so Vox is releasing a couple sure-fires it seems.
First is a TT style 15W head, adding 3-band EQ and a bright switch:

Second is an AC4 reissue - 4W, 1x10", with a built in attenuator. Also available as head/cab. Lists for $400 - looks pretty ace:

I'm curious to check out the AC4 - if the noise floor is low it might be a winner.

That would be HEAVENLY - guitar on back, little head on the shoulder strap, and a 1x12" cab in the other hand. Carry everything into the gig in 1 trip.

Well that part yes but, think about walking around a populated town, you would have a high chance at being mugged.

So you smack 'em in the head with the 15lb chunk of sharp metal in yr hand.

Although, you are right. No one would hit you and run off with yr amp if yr amp happened to be a Super Six Reverb.

Dear god why do they style these little 15 watt heads so ugly.

I thought the TT was ugz when it came out, but between the Matamp Little Rock and this uggo, it keeps getting worse. The TT looks down right regal now, by comparison.

Who are they designing these things for?

God knows. I would have thought there would have been enough feedback from the Valvetronix series for Vox to realise people hate this styling.

I think the TT looks nicer although they are obviously very similar in design. I want to hear demos!
