al's amp was really quite good. and it has pretty awesome style points as well.

Hotplate is an Attenuator, not an Amplifier

They're $329 in the US and Â£249 in the UK.

Let's take... I dunno.. a Tiny Terror as a comparison point, seeing as that's more sympathetic to the US cause.

It costs 59% US of a US Tiny Terror price.

It costs 83% UK of a UK Tiny Terror price.

So like I said, it's expensive in the UK, but not as bad as some items.

I'm not sure how much fun I could have with just an attenuator and a cabinet, like. Not much, I'm guessing.

Why can't you get cleans with a hotplate again? 'Cause I do it all the time by walking over and adjusting it, and want to make sure I don't go to hell.

I think Mike's talking about the Flexi 50, not the hotplate.

Although I'd have thought there were cleans on offer with a Flexi-50 too.

I think the stand point is that a hot plate allows you to dime the amp at sensible levels. Dimed amp then going to cleans means a big drop is volume.
