Meh, cleans are a bit dire at low volumes, if I'm recording cleans I have it pretty loud, gain is also a bit thin at lower volumes.
Still a bloody good amp, I also found out today that mine is a Korean one, not a Chinese one like I thought, no idea why I didn't ever read the back before.

Though for a well respected tube amp company, The 550 seems about right for it in the US. I bet the dual terror will be 2-300 more, but it's got a lot more going on.
A 15W Silvertone amp cost $95 in 1957 - the equivalent of $714 today. Keep in mind, this was a bottom-of-the line catalog amp with nary a tagboard in sight; all the components were wired dead bug and flopped around inside the chassis.
A higher quality amp like a tweed Deluxe cost around $250 in 1957, or $1889 today. Gibson amps were even higher. In England, the Vox AC15 was the first reasonably loud amp available. It cost the equivalent of around $3000.
Given the historical perspective, $550 is pretty reasonable for a 15W.
In England it's incredible value at £299, given that usually we pay pound for dollar even on British amplifiers.
The US market has a lot more competition around that price point, the Egnater Rebel 20 is something I would be definitely interested in if I was living there - they have no distribution here. The Blackstar HT-5 just came out over here at £249 for a 5 Watt 2 channel head or £349 for a head and 2x10"s. If I didn't have a TT already I would buy that since it sounds immense. I love my Tiny Terror though, several years of faithful service as my practise/recording amp, always comes to gigs as a backup head and never a problem it's really solidly built.
Hahaha that was my dilemma in Atlanta. Cowbell took me to this shop and there was an original tweed bassman for aroudn £500, I'd have hit that so hard if it would have gone in my suitcase, but cost of getting it over would undermine its good price.

wow, this looks cool. 30 watts means having cleans at high volume right? i'm kind of suck of not having proper amp distortion on my hotrod d, and i'm love those tt
