It wouldn't be a modification (I think). It'd be a block type thing that'd go between the walll and the amp, like you get in the power lead of some consoles.
I wouldn't imagine so. It's the shipping that'll be your main problem.
I think that for the cost of shipping one over, getting a transformer, and then having to put up with an amp that you need a specific power set-up for, it doesn't make sense. I think you'd be losing whatever value you'd gain by the cheaper cost.
As far as I know, there are plenty in America. The Epiphone Valve Junior's great, as is the Fender Champion 600 (although the Fender's not a head). There's something else too, but I can't remember the name of it. Whatever the something else is is supposed to be the market leader.
I played thru a 65watt one, and it seemed pretty good, but some times gear is faulty I once had a DS-1 and it was terrible it wouldn't turn on when I activated it or any thing, and it was connected to power so, maybe you just had bad amp.

Yeah, that's probably what it is. I have difficulty telling the difference between what sounds good and what doesn't, which is probably why I don't have a DS-1.

And Paul was that last post sarcasm? Or am I just reading it that way.
