need new Jaguar neck
Could i get some advise on where to purchase a good jaguar neck, i would like an original, american better but could use a Jap. If i cant get any of those, what would be a good place to buy from... allparts, warmoth??? which is better? thx in advance for your opinions
You can generally find all different kinds of necks on the bay. They tend to be more expensive if they're origional, though. Allparts makes a pretty good replacement from what I've heard. As for Warmoth, they take forever to get shit done, just ask Mike.

THx for the replies! ..., i got a CP HH jag as a gift and the truss rod wont work ...3 different luthiers told me its upbow and cant be fix... since i live in a third world country and the guitar was bought online from musiciansfriend it seems i cant trade it and if i do the whole shipping back and forth cost will be more than buying a new neck... now the last luthier told me he could correct the problem by doing a refret and taking off wood from the top and bottom of the fretboard. whats your opinion on doing this??? is much more cheaper than buying the new neck,.. and he says i wont notice unless you are playing and look at the fretboard rosewood compare with the maple...
Now that mention it's a CP neck that kind of changes things. They have a different radius than other Jag necks.

tis true. i think warmoth is sort of the only lefty choice..PenPen wrote:So Warmoth is not a good choice? I was looking at Allparts and they don't have 24" scale lefty necks.
i wish we could but them right from fender japan. as they are obviously still making them.
and the demand is right fucking here.
Hence the reason I fucking hate Fender with a passion.serfx wrote:tis true. i think warmoth is sort of the only lefty choice..PenPen wrote:So Warmoth is not a good choice? I was looking at Allparts and they don't have 24" scale lefty necks.

In the grand scheme of things that's not too bad. Birdseye and ebony are quality woods for a neck and it's been finished already. Plus Warmoth makes a compound radius that should work with the CP TOM. The roller nut and locking tuners would be a plus for shredders and an expesive add on and probably keep tuning a bit more stable, but that and the dual string tree gives it a mark in the minus catagory for looks alone. The BIN is 300 and if it could be had for less it's not a bad option.

Okay, those look awesome, but I can't find any 24" scale. I wonder if you can contact them for one?bassintom wrote:Take a look at Eden necks.I've had a couple and they are not a bad neck for the price.
Linker
I didn't look to see if they have Jag necks

Thx for the replies... Im not getting the new neck anymore, my luthier did a Refret on my old neck and he says it came out perfect and well...it was cheaper than a new neck...just hope it doesnt look like shit now...but this guy is really good so i doubt he did a shitty job...plus it wasnt that cheap either...
I might order one of those Eden necks though, Im trying to put back together my first guitar that is 15 years old.. (peavey predator) its basically a strat clone...I think the strat shape are too used up so instead of ever buying a strat ill just fix that one up with good parts and pickups...well the neck will probably be cheap if i get one of these...
anyway,, thanks for the advise, once i get my guitar back (I also did some other mods: bridge pup Super Distortion and Neck Air norton, new Red tort pickguard from Jennies on ebay) ill take some pics together with my mustang refinished in surf green and post them.
cheers

up bow? you mean there was a good amount of relief in it and no matter what you did to the truss rod it would not change it?
thats a defect, you should get a whole new guitar from fender for it, nevermind the shipping charges, should have just let them know the deal, they should have compensated you fully for it.
