projects in the works

I had trouble too. I actually sent them my pickguard to work from. Took forever to get it back and when I mentioned it didn't fit I was berated via e-mail.
In their defense, I did end up using the pickguard with a whole lotta file work. A whole lot. It still doesn't look right but from far away it's okay.
And in the vein of the "how you got here" thread ....I pm'd Aug at js.com about the pickguard and he mentioned this board. For that I am grateful.

i'm still waiting on another set of white witch hats (yes, those overpriced things) that i'll age to match the pickup cover. the pickguard will probably just get trimmed to fit, i really don't mind a gap around the neck pickup as it's black anyways, and it ads to the look. i got in the jazzcaster decals so short of some pots and some routing for the trem/bridge posts, and likely some shielding, it should be ready to get together....whenever my luthier gets a chance.
I would maybe hold back on that, The vintage witch hats on my Jazzmaster(well hat as I only have volume on there) has already darkened up a bit. Last thing you want is to age them and then a few months down the line find that you hats are darker than the pickups cover you were trying to match. I will have got the knobs from the same place as you nos. you can add mojo later, but you cant take away.finboy wrote:

its funny, brittany and i were fantasising about basically this guitar here, except i had placed a wide range bucker instead of a jazzy, but i like yours even better.
but yeah, we were talking about fran's (WTFZ) (awesome and for sale) telemaster, and then brittang suggested the opposite, a jazzy with telecaster appointments, and this is what i pictured, even down to the tailpiece and bridge and everything.
really awesome guitar, man.
whoops! i meant jager's awesome and for sale telemaster, not fran's. wtf?
