This just popped up locally online and incurred a great deal of curiosity from myself, simply because 12 string electrics don't exist in this country despite the Dano productions of yesteryear. The guy wants to trade this for what looks like a Japanese acoustic 12 or something, but will do cash, to an amount that isn't specified. Judging by the pic and foreground SG, I reckon it's got a scale somewhat close to what a 325 would have, and am curious as to if it would be practical to tune one up to an upper open tuning/GCFBbDG or something on the right set o' strings like a Veillette Griffon, for those sparkley moments. Just might ask what the dood wants for it...
Looks eerily similar to a no name copy of a 6 string version I owned for about a week, however mine was a set neck. I couldn't deal with the shitty pickup selection and the tiny neck scale. It was an alright guitar though for a cheapy...if it were a 12 string I'd've probably kept it for the versatility.
wow, that thing is really cool looking.
obviously im kinda gay for it becuz it looks like a ric, but still, that is a damn cool piece of gear, you should see what you can do to take it off his hands.
Gonna text message the guy later today just out of curiosity, as I gots to know the story behind it. His ad's "I won't trade for a Korean or continental(read: Chinese) acoustic" is a bit wankish considering what he's likely trying to get rid of, but a little info should suffice for now.
Def worth finding out about. 12 strings and 3 pups? YES!
I would re-paint that TRC to say whatever you want. Richbacker? The Rutles?
I would personally check out alternative tailpieces, but I am weird that way. I don't like the curly ones--I prefer art deco straight chrome. This is obviously the 6 string version of it. Ric is not stingy about these like the branded R versions.
