Nothing to do on a Friday = WEEZER cover.

Post by DanHeron »

Ok, so I'm not a singer, but its ok and is worth putting here I think. I usually rely on midi for drums and stuff but for the first time in ages it has NO MIDI. :D

I recorded acoustic guitar, vocals and snare through one Behringer C3 condenser mic. Bass was using a basic clean sound on Gearbox amp software. Cymbal sounds are just downloaded sound files.

Anyone else got any songs or covers to post?

ps: how can add html code so that it can be streamed in here?

my band in highschool recorded a terrible cover of Beverly Hills, and the guitarist of that band and I covered The Black Keys' Midnight in her Eyes, but I don't know where the recordings are.

upload it to the shortscale uploader as an mp3 and use the little speaker icon in your post creation page to embed it. PANTERA.

Quick n dirty cover of Faded From The Winter. S'all whispery n that 'cause it's half 1 and people are sleeping. Two takes, one with guitar and singing into one condenser, then a vocal overdub into the same mic.

My voice is kinda weak up that high and tends to drop out so the overdubs are dire at best.

Edit: HIDDEN, HAET AUTOPLAY

I forgot to comment on your cover! It works really well with just the sanre and the odd cymbals for the drums, I like very much.

Vocals do their job but like you said you're not a singer. Gotta love t' northen accent :D.

Yeah, singing is just there because it has to be.. I prefer to make instrumental stuff, but no one really listens to that. And yeah, Manchester accent isnt the best... lol

The whole board just did Pixies covers, and we've had many other "board" compilations that have covers throughout. Nice job on this!

Here is a couple of cover tunes from Hurb and I on myspace...also Mixed by James and Kim/Heavium sings the MBV song and plays bass.
