How can a colour not suit a style of music? Even something like metal where black is usually the quota you get people playing all variety of different guitar colours.

you have a big lebowski name and avatar, therefore you need to work alot harder to make an arse of yourself in my eyes.

i thought you were going all mojo I DON'T PLAY THESE GUITARS BECAUSE MY GENRE DOESN'T but 'twas a seemingly innocent comment, apologies for being a bit sharp.

I get what he is saying. Ibanez did a line of flourescent color Supertstrats in the 90s which seemed very glam rock and still does i think, also, have you seen the BC Rich 'snakeskin' finish guitars? You just would'nt...

Similarly you wouldn't show up to a metal gig with DDDave's leather tooled tele.

Although, we are talking about very different styles of guitars. I think the difference between a red tele and a black tele is a little less obvious, and those colours aren't as genre specific as others.

Fiesta red has the Hank Marvin UK tradition. The Queen's red, then. I like black as much as the next guy, but it kind of disappears into the dark and would HIDE THE F HOLE.

I wish people wouldn't associate guitars themselves with genres, don't even start with the paint colour now.

I like seeing somebody do something with a particular guitar that you wouldn't expect, but there are some guitars that won't work in certain situations. Saying there isn't, is silly.

The colours thing is really daft.

LOL!

Stacey says I'd quickly tire of the bright red, so some kind of green is the frontrunner now. I fancy aged pelham blue, or old lpb like this one. Getting this stuff is gonna be impossible though. I'm going to have to experiment with a few different halfords colours I suspect.

No, I'm not going to relic it.

I had a similar issue as you when I saw the ash body I'm getting for this guitar though. The grain is actually gorgeous. So things might change yet.

Ain't painting it til the weather improves though. Had a bloody nightmare clearcoating pedals at the weekend.

Yeah, I still look at the Duo-Sonic and have Duo-Feelings about it. The wood is glorious so it feels wrong to not show it off, but I know I would prefer it personally in a black and tort colour scheme.

I can see sun-faded Jags, MGs, and the occasional Austin-Healey 3000. A less common and lovely choice I'd easily vouch for on a Tele, even if it takes a sherwood/forest green hit of paint to suffice.
