I'm gonna get all novak on yer asses and paint some blocks. Price I paid for the neck it's gotta be worth some experimenting.

It may be slightly darker, but I've always associated this colour with the Jaguar XJS. People used to hate the look of these things, but look at em now!

I was able to drive a '86 xjs12 (the 12 cyl one, can remember if it was xjs or not) for a few months a few years ago.

What a beauty.

Is this a bad stage in the project for me to suggest you put a maple neck on the Esquire?

I'd hate to think how pale the Eden maple necks are. The esquire is the cheap project, and I gotta refinish the neck with tinted nitro anyway.
This (I know it's not fiesta) is my inspiration:

Mine's gonna be more minimal- no binding, and the p/g I've got on the way is of the one-ply, four-hole variety. Not sure whether to go for a stealth neck pickup though, or hide some active EQ circuitry in it.
