You need to make your own "ideal" OD pedal
the modded muff was brilliant, and the rat was bliss, not even going to begin ranting on the trem/vibrato
but i would be interested on your take of an OD, or other like minded pedal
and tim
aen has his shit going, his pedals are as ballzy as himself

thought about making your own circuits or just happy w/ clones of already great pedals?

You act like completely original design is easy. It's really not.

REALLY not. I'm planning to start experimenting in future, but at the moment can only make slight modifications to existing circuits.

Actually I'm rehousing my old bud box MXR dist + back into it's original enclosure (removing the Yun shitness). If I remember rightly, this was the best sounding Dist+, and OD pedal, I've found so far.

Edit: This one!

At the moment I'm more than happy building other designs, adding tweaks and modifications to make them sound better to my ears, and doing custom work for people.

Designing an Overdrive pedal from the ground up without taking your cue from another design is basically impossible at this point, there are only so many ways you can clip a guitar signal in a vaguely musical way, so whether deliberate or otherwise, you'll always be treading on someone's toes. Plus, you have to ask yourself, who would really want to buy a pedal that I designed rather that one someone else did that they already have confidence in.

I design all day long in my real job as a 3d Graphics Hardware Digital Design Engineer and I have severe chops at it, but not analogue signal processing design I don't
