TGD

Post by kim »

on bass

if you wanna know.

my friend/bandmate asked me to record it going through random settings so i finally got to it today (yes it's almost 2am here haha).

it's just:
fender mia p bass - TGD - marshall mg line out (yes..) - behringer guitar usb thing- eee pc with audacity.

so i didn't tweak anything, just how it works on bass, but the best way to really hear what this thing does is of course sending it through an actual amp with a cab with actual speakers responding etc.. still it gives you sort of an idea.. if you wanna know...
obviously i couldn 't mic an actual amp using this pedal at 2am, there's the neighbors and there's my ghetto recording setup right now.

also haven't slept for two nights so sorry if it's a bit crap it's a 5Omb wav file to keep the orig quality

im computer illiterate so i have no idea how to load the thing.
i will say however that i got to play a bass thru TGD and it sounded really really good.
the bass player for nails said the same thing.
my eau claire thunder actually works really well with bass as well.
i was suprised at how it didn't suck all the low end out of the bass like most boxes do.

yeah low end is even boosted with some settings.
also depending on the setting you can either get a more synth like hairy fuzz or a fuzz that is a bit more transparent so you can still hear the attack of a plectrum more.

the main difference with this thing on guitar vs. bass is the tones/feedbacky sound you get when muting strings, it's more loud with guitar, on bass it's a bit less noisy, less insane.

The whole point of Dwarfcraft is to retain or boost low end.

So yeah, I dlled it, and I dug it. As always, it osunds different with differnet gear, its always great to hear how the motorboat transforms. =)

i wasn't quibbling about the price i just CAN'T afford it right now.

if i wanted a Fuzz Factory i would buy a Vexter on ebay used. & i would not complain.

there are lots of things in the $150 range that i "want" right now. TGD is one of them...

i wouldn't mind spending $150 on an escort sure, but that would only last for about 30 secs: utility-wise, TGD is obviously a better value, in the long run.
