they were keeping watch batteries in it. we lease out our space to Finlay Jewelry and they just went bust so all of thier shit in on mega clearance in my store. the manager who is collecting severance honored me by letting me take it home for a fucking rad guitar parts manland organizer from the 50's. this thing is teh vintagez.

Hell yeah, when my parents bought this house, the old man was an electrical worker and left us a tower that was labeled with different parts, values, everything. It's awesome.

Did the tower have parts in it? Because that would be so rad, finding an old electronics storage tower filled with some nos parts, or even old stock.

It did when we first moved in, but my dad tossed all of that shit and just holds nuts, washers and bolts in there. I was so pissed when I noticed that thing again after I started getting into electronics and actually knew what the fuck those symbols stood for on the labels haha.

yes you have. its Ians ducktape stang. the one that he threw against the wall and shattered.

dude never came and picked it up from last june. it sat around forever until one day i looked at all the pieces and convinced myself that it wasn't hopeless.

so the body/neck is all back together now safe and sound. i still have to repair the headstock and get it a new nut to make it playable again though. its like the never ending project i do when nothing else is going on

well, first i had to fix the headstock. then after the headstock/neck joint was solid i picked out alot of the spinters left over from the body break, then i filled in all the little cracks with a fuck ton of glue and hammered the shit out of the headstock down into the body until it was flush and where it was supposed to be. just taking it slow the whole time but hammering really fucking hard. i didn't have anything to loose if the headstock broke again hammering so i figured why not.

in other words i used fucking science. its solid as fuck now

also the body break was right at 2 of the screw holes, so i put glue all over the screws.

in otherwords the only way this neck is ever coming off this guitar again is if you smash it

i just keep tinkering with it here and there when i have the time.

i didn't dump tons of time into it because i didn't want to get attached to it. and then have him show up and pick it up randomly.

at this point its just desk fodder
