Just curious if anyone has used a Deluxe Reverb. I'm thinking of selling my Hot Rode Deville and this looks like a decent replacement.
My main concern is practice, if I'll be able to get into the mix. I'll be going up against a bass, drums, and AC-30. We get mic'd a just about every show, so I'm not as worried about live settings.
Anyone?
Anyone ever use a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb?

i know aen said that his 65 re-issue is LOUD, and the amp prior to that was a 67 fender bassman 2X12 setup, so he must be selling some truth there.
im sure that it will be fine in a band setting, there is a fellow in town that has a hot rod deluxe that is nice, its loud and what not, but i would imagine that even tho each speaker is lower wattage a dual 12 combo will give more headroom and alot more response.
just a theory tho, i might be completely wrong.

It depends on what you want.... If you want really clean headroom, a deluxe reverb might not cut it. It is a 1x12 amp and is not high wattage. they are great amps though as long as you don;t mind a little breakup in your clean sound at gig volume. It also depends on the music you play as well....
All in all, Iw ould look around for a silverfave deluxe though. You might pay a couple $ more (not necessarily), but they sound better and will hold value alot better than a re-issue.

They say great minds think alike....Sometimes we do too...

Yah, he does...but it's usually b/c I've played through a '70s JMP Halfstack, a '59 Bassman RI, and a Hot Rod Devlle 2x12. He's always pushing to keep up which is why I'm looking to do somehting lower wattage.DuoSonicBoy wrote:Doesn't yr other guitar player dime his AC30? In that case, a DRRI wouldn't keep up.
We play garage/stooges'ish punk so breakup is good and fine. I usually play through the fuzz Mike built me and a 70's ProCo Rat. (Thick Fuzz & Lighter Fuzz).
