telecaster deluxe project *updated pics*

Post by dawnofzion »

I have been playing with ideas for my tele deluxe project. I am making a padauk neck with a maple fretboard and maple skunk stripe. I can't decide if I want to make it a walnut body with a black pickguard, or a black alder body with a cream pickguard. I already have the wood for the neck and I'm working on it. any ideas?

I like the black one but am not sure about the cream pickguard. It might just be the photoshop. Also, the walnut looks like it might do a good job of bringing out the padauk headstock, and that'd be cool too.

To be honest I'm not really a fan. I like the classic all Maple neck and stock.

Padauk eventually turns to a orangy brown color. I plan on clearing over it with gloss nitro.
