I'm so glad you guys like it, thanks so much for the complements! I finished up winding the neck pickup today I went with with fiber bobbins rather than plastic, I got 8.6k on the neck and i'm shooting for about 10k for the bridge. I'm so pumped for this guitar!!!

Loving the finish on that, you really nailed it. Apart from the strat pickups will it have regular Jaguar style electronics (rhythm circuit, bass cut switch, etc)?

are fiber bobbins just nicer and more "vintage spec", or is there some other reason for using them?
nice guitar, btw. i hate stripes, but somehow you pulled it off. love how you aged the white before masking.

FIBER BOBBIN- that means that, unlike plastic, they can really heat up the wax and vacuum impregnate the windings- the result? KILLER tone, great output, no noise, and NO MICROPHONICS!william wrote:matocaster wrote:I'm so glad you guys like it, thanks so much for the complements! The pics seem to be a bit pixelated it makes the stripe look like crap, but I swear in person the stripe has very clean lines

Thanks for the complements! Na I decided after winding my own to use the ones I made for my next project and went with GFS lil' killers on this one, but knowing me i'll have 'em changed out in a week, I just can't stop tinkering. Oh, and yeah I adore the CBS heastock, I have an orignal '72 Strat and fell in love with the massive headstock!
