£185. Should I just dew it?

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

£185. Should I just dew it?

It's basically a modified Quadrastar, different neck and pickups, but essentially the same.

But £185, which is almost as low as the original Quadra's back when they came out (which are no longer available. Ah, Alden, I miss you so).

My mates brother bought a Hutchins Fury (see below) at my insistence, and it's a fucking ace piece of equipment.

It basically is. The Hutchins range is just the Alden range but with fancier necks and slight differences in hardware, such as pickups and sometimes the scratchplates. They even keep the QTX tone systems, which is a major selling point for me as they apparently work excellently.

A local music shop, not online. He paid £299 for it, although it came with a really snazzy tweed hardcase and everything, which I think is standard for Hutchins guitars. The only other web store I know that stocks Hutchins guitars is Brightdawn music, which is where the blue one I want is going for £185. They have the Paisley Fury, too, I think, but it's £299 there as well.

Actually, they appear to have stuck a few more guitars up on their site since I made this thread. All around the £300 mark:

I don't like any of these guitars, but I know Eric does, because he's been banging on about a quadrastar for the last few years.

I say buy it, just so we don't have to listen to you anymore.

Nah, I'm not going for the white Jag-a-like there, I'm going for the blue one at the top of the page. It's been dropped to £185, all the rest of that stuff is still at £299 and I don't have those kinds of dollars to spend.

Still looks great for the money. The mind cannot begin to comprehend the sounds availble on that thing what with 4 pups and all them switches. I'd still go for it especially if you know it will play well.

I think I'll wait for about a week or so for my bursary to come in, then go for it. Quadrastar Deluxe time!
