The second best acoustic I have ever played. The best cost exactly 20 times more than this one, it was a gibson dreadnought size something or other in natural, it was amazing. This was 150 euros and it's really, really good. I don't know how they manage to make guitars this good for so little money, but i'm impressed by these canucks.

the wood is quite soft and the finish will flake away if you look at it too hard (see playwear around soundhole) but it plays really well and sounds fantastic. I've had it about 8 weeks now and it's my main guitar.

I love the balls-outness of the Epiphone. It makes no apoplogies for what it is, like, and it's not to everyone's taste.

That looks nice, although as a general rule I tend not to like cherry bursts or anything coming close to them.

thanks everyone :D

it's one of those clip on fishman thingies where the cable is meant to stick out the soudnhole

which is a stupid idea. So I cut the cable short, soldered it to an endpin jack, drilled a 12mm hole in the butt end of the guitar and fitted the jack, it's neat enough and works.

Cool. I would always be scared to drill a hole in my acoustic.

My guitars!

Danelectro 59 DC 2007, with gibson p90 in the bridge.

I might get a little flak for this but... LES PAUL CLONE.
This is a "National" big daddy. its basically a gibson les paul custom clone, they made these for one year in 1969 before gibson destroyed them with law suites for being so similar.

And my old old old old old old old Kay acoustic from the 1940's i believe. this thing is completely impossible to play with its 1inch string action. but when you can press the stings down this is a really huge sounding acoustic

Yeah thats just the start for that dano, its not gonna be a danelectro at all when its done. I havnt decided on a neck pick up yet though, im thinking either another p90 just like the bridge, Seymour duncan P-Rail, a mini humbucker, or jaguar neck pick up. The LP plays really nice, i like it more then some gibsons i have played, it has a very nice thick but not too thick neck.

Why not?

They're very cheap and readily available. If he likes the playability and looks but not the pickups it's all perfectly logical. That P90 sounds great in his video.

Rock on, I say. Rock on.

true i suppose. i had it in my head that he'd bought it with replacing the lipsticks in mind, which are to me one of the defining characteristics of danos, but for all i know he loved how it played and got tired of the pups.

also something about that LP copy looks odd to me, i can't put my finger on it. maybe the pickups are too close together?

I originally was interested in the danelectro because my dad showed me this old catalogue with all these old ugly 50's guitars, i really liked the look of the danelectro so I read more into them and then eventually bought one. I had a Gibson Les Paul jr for a long time and that's how I came to love p90s so then i decided to combine the best of both worlds, but after doing that, the neck pickup cant keep up the the awesomeness of the bridge so the neck pick up needs to be changed. But i really like the neck on the danelectro and how it plays, so thats why i just decided to upgrade it. That national does have some weird pickup placement, i noticed that too.

I love that danelectro though.
