So Anyways, Malikcaster

Is this what Malik was going to do with the body I am getting? I forget now. It's going to have a regular tele headstock wifs mapplez. I guess i have to start thinking about pups, too.

when i first saw these, i thought they were a non reverse firebird/ fender hybrid

its a great shape, better than that description, but its still what i thought of at first.

its one of my favorite OG shapes.

(does it strike anyone that these are actually REVERSED firebirds?)

Non-reverse firebirds are so nice, my friend has an original one much like the one that is pictured above, plays like a dream, and you can not beat 3 p90s at all.

amazing guitars.

I like non reverse Firebirds. The Schecter Ultra model has a similar flavour and i have often considered one.

Yeah, there are models with less on them. Thing is, you might say they are no different to Alden or whatever but these Schecters are really high spec, duncan pups, tone pros bridge and all that malarky.

This was the one i was tempted on..

i'd have one of those. theres an all black one on their site that i think i prefer.

shecter's website is terrible, they have quite a few interesting guitars but this site is making it impossible to get a decent look.

The pickups in that ultra model almost looks like Filtertrons. I wonder why we don't see more triple guitars after the success of some of the Gibsons.

The Framus website is the same. Well, that white model did not sell at £199.00. I considered selling the PRS to buy it, like for like, but the Schecter is more my thing visually. Its difficult, im trying to stop this 'buying on a wim' as i have all i need in my collection, but i keep seeing things i like.

Sorry for the hijack DGNR8, i thought there was similarities with the Malikaster.

...Non-reverse Firebirds are, IMO, among the ugliest guitars in creation. Original Firebirds, with the original magnet-poled minihums, are cool, if ridiculous and hard as fuck to play.

Schecters with fake neck-through stylings don't fare much better with me.

The Malikaster would have looked cooler, IMO, if it had sharp edge radiusing like a Tele, and no contours.

The Cure were on Jonathan Ross last night with their horrible ugly Schecters, playing the same dirgey shit they churned-out in the Eighties. I remember thinking "god The Cure and Schecter guitars suck".

Aye, one day Tim people might be watching Jonathan Ross saying "Pffft. Its that Tim character again with his ugly Hagstroms playing his twee indie tunes". All joking aside though, i can understand the Schecter hate but not The Cure. :?

Lole @ twee indie. Have you heard our shit? Nah I just don't have much time for the Cure. It's self-indulgent in a really bad way. Teenage crap my guys in their late forties. They should have moved-on at least.

They did move on, but later moved back... as all the great bands do (Stones, Sabbath, The Who, etc.). The 'twee' thing was a joke Tim, i've always liked your bands offerings but i have'nt checked you out for a bit. I will do however now you said that, i'm expecting Zen Arcade meets... :D
